Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is a form of alternative approach used to reprogram the subconscious mind. When you are in hypnosis you put your mind and body in a heightened state of learning, making you more sensitive to suggestions for self-improvement or behavior modification.
In a hypnotherapy session you are in control of your body the whole time. You will hear the suggestions made for you and be able to remember them after the session. Hypnosis doesn’t work if you don’t want to be hypnotized.
Once you enter a hypnotic state, you will feel your body calm and relaxed. You will be in a state of heightened awareness, similar to what you would feel during meditation. Hypnotherapy is indicated in cases of weight loss or to stop addictive behaviors such as smoking or drinking.
While people often seek out Hypnotherapy for these reasons, there are many more benefits. They can free themselves from phobias and increase their self-esteem. Also, they can manage chronic pain, insomnia, stress. It is important to remember that hypnotherapists are not doctors. While hypnosis can help manage pain, it does not cure diseases such as cancer or heart disease. Hypnotherapy is not used if there is psychosis or certain types of personality disorder as it could make the condition worse. Hypnotherapy, also referred to as guided hypnosis, is a form of psychotherapy that uses relaxation, direct concentration, and intense attention to achieve heightened awareness and self-awareness. In other words, it puts the person into a ‘trance’ or heightened state of awareness. The goal of hypnotherapy is to create a positive change in the person while they are in a state of sleep.
